Managing Your Balance, Payouts & Bank Accounts

Learn how to navigate your finance dashboard, link and update bank accounts, request manual or instant payouts, modify your payout schedule, and troubleshoot failed transfers.

Once you complete Stripe onboarding, your Finance dashboard serves as your cash command center. Use it to check balances, link bank accounts, set payout frequencies, and track your funds.

Accessing the Finance Dashboard

  • Web Browser: Select your organization and click the Finance ($) icon on the top navigation bar.

  • Posh Mobile App: Go to your account grid and tap Finance. (Both platforms share similar functionality.)

Understanding Your Balance Categories

Your revenue is split into three categories based on bank processing windows:

Balance Tier

What It Means

Available

Fully settled funds cleared by card networks and ready for withdrawal.

Pending

Recent ticket sales moving through clearing networks. Cannot be withdrawn yet.

Instant available

The portion of settled funds eligible for real-time emergency withdrawal.

⚠️ The "Pending" Label Warning: Ensure you know which of the two dashboard locations you are viewing:

  1. Pending under Balance: Normal processing. Funds automatically move to Available within 24–48 business hours.

  2. Pending under Account Status: Account restriction/underwriting block. Checkouts or payouts may be paused until outstanding Stripe documentation is submitted.

Why is there a delay for pending funds?

Card networks require verification windows to settle data and prevent fraud. Delays are calculated strictly in Business Days (Monday–Friday, excluding holidays):

  • Sunday: Day of purchase (does not count as a business day).

  • Monday: Day 0 (first official business day post-purchase).

  • Tuesday: Day 1.

  • Wednesday Morning: Day 2 (funds clear standard processing and hit Available balance).

🚫 Can this be expedited? No — the 24–48 business hour window is set by card networks and cannot be expedited by Posh. If you need funds faster, use Instant Payout (if eligible) — it bypasses the clearing window entirely using your Instant Available balance.

Connecting & Managing Your Bank Accounts

You must maintain a verified checking account to route automated or manual payouts.

Adding a Bank Account

  1. Scroll to Payment methods and click ➕ Add Bank Account.

  2. Enter Account Holder Name, Routing Number, and Checking Account Number.

  3. Click Add Bank Account.

  4. Click the Default button on the new bank card to lock it as your primary route.

Removing an Old Bank Account

Posh requires at least one active payment method on file to protect account architecture.

  1. Add your new checking account first and set it as Default.

  2. Go to the old bank row, click the three dots / pencil icon, and click the X.

  3. Confirm by clicking REMOVE BANK ACCOUNT.

Payout Cadences: Daily vs. Manual Schedules

The Payout schedule dropdown — where you select Daily or Manual — is only available when payouts are fully enabled on your account.

  • ✅ Payouts enabled: Both Sell Tickets and Transfer Tickets must be enabled. Once they are, the Payout schedule dropdown appears with two options: Manual (default) or Daily.

  • 🔒 Payouts disabled: The Payout schedule dropdown will not be visible. To unlock it, you must complete your financial onboarding first.

How to Withdraw Money (Initiating a Transfer)

Scroll to the payouts module and click New payout. (Button is grayed out if your balance is $0.00 or account status is disabled). Enter your amount and choose a transaction speed:

Standard Payout

  • Cost: Free (0% fee).

  • Speed: Clears into your checking account via standard ACH in 3–5 business days.

Instant Payout

  • Cost: Flat 5% platform processing fee.

  • Speed: Delivers money from your Instant available pool directly to your bank account in real time (usually seconds).

  • 📌 Eligibility Requirement: Instant Payout is only available to organizations that have generated at least $2,000 in total platform GMV (Gross Merchandise Value). If the Instant Payout option is not visible in your dashboard, your account has not yet reached this threshold.

  • ⚡️ Bank eligibility: Only accounts marked ⚡️ Instant Eligible qualify. Credit and prepaid cards aren't supported.

  • 🕐 Weekends & holidays: Requests outside business hours process the next business day.

💡 Available balance went negative? The 5% fee always comes from your Available balance. If it's lower than the fee at payout time, it may dip below zero temporarily — it self-corrects as pending funds clear.

Auditing and Troubleshooting Transfer Statuses

Track any transfer's live lifecycle inside the running Payouts ledger:

  • Pending: Transfer is initializing and checking internal security parameters.

  • In Transit: Funds have left Posh and are migrating across banking routing paths.

  • Paid: Transfer has successfully settled into your bank account.

  • Failed (Red Badge): Bank rejected the transaction. Stripe automatically reverses the path, safely returning the money to your Posh Available balance.

Top 4 Reasons Why Bank Transfers Fail

  1. Entity Mismatches: Stripe registration profile and bank account classification must align (e.g., routing Corporate LLC Stripe funds into a personal checking account will trigger a security block).

  2. Account Restrictions: The receiving account is locked, frozen, closed, or blocks incoming commercial corporate ACH deposits.

  3. Currency Incompatibility: Bank account does not support the currency tickets were sold in (e.g., trying to route USD earnings into a non-USD international account).

  4. Typographical Errors: A number transposition typo inside account or routing fields.

📌 Need a Raw Log Pull? Detailed bank rejection errors are sometimes masked on front-end displays. If your bank confirms your account is in perfect standing but payouts continue to fail, contact us via live web chat or email us at [email protected] so our compliance team can pull the raw API error logs for you.
