Take complete control over your inventory, layout organization, and gating rules using our streamlined ticket dashboard. By combining custom ticket tiers with structural Ticket Groups, you can visually curate your checkout page to give your attendees a seamless, premium buying experience.
The Ticket Type Creation Workflow
Navigation Steps
Log into your Posh Organizer browser dashboard and select your active event.
Click the Tickets tab on the top navigation menu.
To create a brand new ticket type, click + New ticket type.
To modify an existing ticket type, simply click its name.
To create a ticket group, scroll down to the Ticket Groups section and click + Create Ticket Group to build custom structural layout categories.
Defining Basic Ticket Parameters
Ticket Name: Clear consumer-facing title (e.g., General Admission, VIP Pass).
Description: Detail specific perks, arrival time mandates, or VIP amenities included with the purchase.
Quantity: Sets a hard stock cap per tier (leave blank for unlimited capacity).
Part of Ticket Group(s): Assigns a tier directly to a structural folder during initial creation.
RSVP-Only Events
Setting your event as RSVP-only ensures that guests can register without purchasing a paid ticket.
Ticket Limit: To ensure organizer visibility and prevent anonymous guests, each customer account is restricted to a single RSVP registration.
Workaround for Multiple Tickets Per User Account
If you want to allow attendees to claim more than one ticket per account, set up a Free ($0.00) Ticket Tier instead of using the RSVP toggle:
Create a new ticket tier
Name the tier "RSVP"
Set the price to $0.00
Configure ticket quantity limits and maximum tickets per order as needed
The Real-Time Cost Calculator
As you enter your ticket pricing data, the panel displays an interactive financial breakdown to guarantee accurate revenue forecasting:
Base Ticket Price (What You Earn) + Service Fee (Posh Platform & Processing) = Display Price (What Attendees See)
Ticket Price: Your base, take-home payout target per ticket layer.
Service Fee: Posh platform and credit card processing fees calculated automatically from your input.
Display Price: The total upfront number shown publicly to buyers on selection screens (inclusive of standard fees and sales tax).
💡 Want attendees to pay a specific amount? Work backwards — enter a lower base price and watch the Display Price update in real time until it hits your target. For example, if you enter $200 and the Display Price shows $220, fees are adding ~$20 (roughly 10%). Simply lower your base price until the Display Price lands on the exact amount you want attendees to pay.
Display price editing on the new dashboard ‼️
Directly editing the display price may not yet be available in the new Organizer Dashboard. If you’re unable to change it, you can use the old dashboard while you still have access. If that option is unavailable, contact Support for assistance.
Our team is working toward making display price editing available in the new dashboard. We don’t have a confirmed release date to share yet.
Advanced Gating and Operational Toggles
Click Show ∨ next to Advanced Settings on any individual tier to unlock granular operational rules:
Access and Timing Configurations
Limit Ticket Sales Period: Automates exact start/end dates and times for public tier visibility.
Limit Ticket Validity: Establishes explicit entry windows or expires validity after a set hour on event night. For multi-day events, each ticket’s QR code, PDF, and confirmation email clearly show the days the ticket is valid, helping attendees and door staff identify the correct entry days.
Limit Purchase Quantity: Enforces minimum or maximum ticket limits per order to prevent scalping.
💡 Attendees can't select more than one ticket? If your attendees are reporting they can't click beyond one ticket, check your Limit Purchase Quantity setting on that tier. A maximum of 1 will block multi-ticket purchases entirely. To fix it, open the ticket tier → Expand Settings → update or remove the maximum quantity limit.
Each Posh account can only RSVP once per event, and RSVP quantity limits cannot be customized. If you want attendees to select multiple free tickets, create a free ticket tier instead and set your preferred ticket limit.
💡 BOGO Workaround: To create a Buy One, Get One setup, name the tier "BOGO Pass", set the minimum purchase quantity to 2, and set the individual ticket price to your desired bundled half-rate.
⚠️ Double-check ticket purchase limits before publishing or while editing a live event. If a ticket tier’s minimum quantity per order is higher than the number of tickets remaining in that tier, buyers may hit a checkout error because no valid purchase is possible. If this happens, lower the minimum quantity or increase the available inventory.
In-Person Only: Keeps the tier visible on your landing page layout but disables online digital checkout for physical box-office or cash-only gates.
Allow Transfers: Permits confirmed attendees to transfer digital tickets seamlessly to another user account.
Mark as Sold Out: Manually freezes sales instantly by pushing the tier to a public "Sold Out" status state.
Security, Hiding, and Password Rules
Password Protected: Locks the tier behind a code. Attendees must enter the password to view or purchase it. If all tiers are locked, the page displays: "This event has hidden tickets".
Hide Ticket: Conceals the specific tier completely from the public event page layout (ideal for staff comps or backend holds).
When Password protected is enabled, Hide ticket is automatically greyed out. Password-protected ticket types are already hidden until the attendee enters the correct password, so these settings cannot be enabled at the same time. You do not need to uncheck Hide ticket.
To set up and test password protection, go to your event → Tickets, open the ticket type, and expand its settings. Enable Password protected, set a password, and save your changes. Open the event page and enter the correct password to confirm that the ticket type appears. If it still does not appear, contact support for further investigation.
The Order Approval Pipeline
Toggle Require Approval on to manually review purchase requests or free RSVP claims before tickets are officially issued to a buyer's profile.
When active, the standard "Buy" button updates to an approval request link, routing incoming submissions directly to your dashboard for review.
Accessing Pending Requests
Navigate to your target event.
Click the Order tab.
The Visibility Filter: The dedicated Pending orders sub-menu and its accompanying blue notification dot will only surface within the event dashboard once a potential attendee has actively submitted a live request (either a free RSVP claim or a paid checkout transaction). If no requests are active, the order control panel remains hidden.
⚠️ Critical Operational Parameters:
The Cart Rule: If an order contains at least one approval-gated ticket, the entire checkout cart is placed on hold pending your approval—including any standard paid tickets purchased alongside it.
Promo Code Visibility Block: If a guest applies a promotional code to an approval-gated ticket, you cannot view which code was used during your pending workspace review. This specific data populates inside your standard CSV data export only after the request is formally approved and processed.
Configuring and Managing Ticket Groups
Ticket Groups separate your inventory visually (e.g., grouping Table Packages together or keeping Online vs. In-Person tiers distinct) to eliminate customer buying friction on your public page.
Category Layout Settings
Group Name: Structural section header displayed to the public (e.g., "VIP Packages", "Bottle Service").
Add Ticket Types: Select pre-created individual ticket tiers to bundle into the category layout folder.
Group Order & Visibility: Defines exactly where the section displays relative to other groups and toggles section-wide public visibility. Delete groups at any time to condense your landing page.
Structural Group Inheritance When Duplicating Events
🧠 Pro-Tip: When you duplicate an event, all ticket tier settings carry over to the new draft — including tier names, descriptions, pricing, capacity, promo codes, group structure, ordering, and visibility settings. Event dates, past sales, and attendee data are not copied.
⚠️ Note: Group-Level inheritance (including any password or visibility settings applied to a group) only applies in the context of event duplication. Passwords and hide settings are not automatically applied to individual ticket types inside a group on a live event — those must be configured separately on each ticket type.
🚫 CSV import/export of ticket types is not supported. You cannot export ticket tiers from one event and re-upload them to another. Duplicating the event is the only supported way to carry ticket tiers over to a new event.
