Maximize your event's reach and roll out the red carpet for your community using Posh’s promotional and hospitality tools. Located entirely within your ticket dashboard, these features allow you to seamlessly manage VIP access, incentivize buyers, and reward your top supporters.

Accessing the Promotional Toolkit

Navigation Steps

  1. Log in to your browser and select your active event from the main dashboard list.

  2. Click the Tickets tab on the top navigation menu of your event page.

  3. Scroll down past your active ticket tiers to locate the dedicated sections for Private Guest List, Complimentary Tickets, or Promo Codes.

Boosting Sales with Promo Codes

Promo codes act as your primary lever for driving checkout conversions, launching flash sales, or tracking promoter performance.

⚠️ Web Platform Requirement: Promo codes can currently only be created, edited, managed, or uploaded via CSV on the Posh web platform. Organizers cannot manage promo codes from the mobile application at this time, though attendees can still apply codes during checkout on both web and mobile app formats.

Option A: Creating Individual Promo Codes

  1. From the Promo codes section in your event’s Tickets tab, click + New promo code.

  2. Enter a Promo code name, such as EARLYBIRD20.

  3. Choose % for a percentage discount or $ for a fixed dollar discount, then enter the discount value.

  4. Under Usage limit, choose Unlimited or Limited. Usage limits apply per order, not per individual ticket in the basket.

  5. Under Ticket type restriction, choose Unrestricted to apply the code across ticket types, or Restricted to limit it to specific ticket types. If restricted, open Select ticket types and check the applicable options. You can select multiple ticket types.

  6. Set Activate promo code. When disabled, the code is invalid.

  7. Click Create promo code. Creating a promo code automatically generates a shareable link. Copy and share this link with attendees to automatically apply the promo code at checkout, so they do not need to enter it manually.

Option B: Creating Bulk Promo Codes (CSV Upload)

  1. From the Promo Codes section, select + Create Promo Code and click CSV Upload.

  2. Download our template, fill out the CSV file with your custom promoter strings, and re-upload it.

  3. Choose whether to apply them broadly or limit that entire batch of imported codes to a single, specific ticket type.

📌 Requirement Restriction: Bulk CSV promo code uploading is available only to organizations that have generated at least $2,500 in overall platform revenue.

⚠️ Upload Performance Restrictions: To protect dashboard processing speeds, batch imports are strictly limited to a maximum of 200 promo codes per upload, with a hard ceiling of 5 CSV imports permitted per day.

Troubleshooting: “Couldn’t validate your promo codes”

If you see this error when uploading your CSV, even after using the official template:

  1. Clear your browser’s cache and cookies, sign back in to Posh, and try uploading the CSV again.

  2. If the error continues, try uploading the file in a different browser.

  3. If you still can’t upload your promo codes, contact us and attach the CSV file you’re trying to upload. Our Support team can review the file, confirm your organization’s eligibility, and help upload the promo codes on your behalf.

Issuing Complimentary Tickets

When you need to grant full access with a scannable barcode, you can generate Complimentary (Free) Tickets. Only account Owners or Admins with explicit ticketing permissions can distribute comps.

Option A: Sending Individual Comps

  1. Scroll to the Complimentary Tickets section and click Send Complimentary Tickets.

  2. Enter the recipient’s email address (works for existing Posh profiles and non-users alike).

  3. Select your desired ticket tier, specify the exact quantity of tickets to send, and confirm.

  4. Track delivery on your dashboard or click Cancel Ticket at any time to instantly invalidate that specific QR code for entry.

Option B: Sending Bulk Comps (CSV Upload)

  1. Within the Complimentary Tickets section, select the CSV Upload tool.

  2. Download our official CSV template and populate the spreadsheet with your recipients' Email Addresses, First Names (optional), and Last Names (optional).

  3. Save and re-upload the file to automatically distribute the tickets.

📌 Pro Tier Requirement Restriction: Bulk CSV for Complimentary tickets uploading is an exclusive feature available only to Pro-level organizations (brands that have generated $100K+ in overall platform revenue).

💡 What the Attendee Sees: Once sent, the recipient receives an automated email and SMS confirmation. No claiming action is required; the ticket is automatically delivered to their email inbox as a scannable QR code and instantly populates inside their My Orders page on the Posh app/web.

⚠️ SMS Marketing Limitation: Complimentary ticket recipients do not enter the SMS marketing consent flow. Although they may receive a ticket confirmation, they are not eligible to receive organizer SMS marketing blasts.

Managing Your Private Guest List

The Private Guest List is designed for curated, door-side tracking. It allows you to maintain a digital ledger of specific guests without issuing official ticket barcodes or requiring guests to create a Posh account.

While full guest list administration lives on web, you can quickly jump into your guest list right at the door using your Posh app. Open Posh App ➔ Select Event ➔ Tap "Scan Tickets" ➔ Tap "Private Guest List"

Guest Entry and Mobile Visibility Controls

  • Adding & Editing Guests: Input names directly on the web dashboard or via the Posh mobile organizer app. You can explicitly specify a guest's +1 or +2 allowance. If you make a typo, swipe left on the entry to delete it and re-add them with the corrected details.

  • The Door Experience: When guests arrive, door staff can check them in or out using either the browser dashboard or the Posh app.

  • Web vs. App Workspace Differences: The web platform displays a live, visible Checked In status tracker along with deep guestlist details. The mobile app utilizes a quick-tap radio button to execute check-ins/check-outs, but the explicit status labels and full operational details remain exclusively viewable on the web platform.

⚠️ Export Limitation: Private Guest List entries do not appear in your event report CSV export. Because the Private Guest List is a door-side tracking tool — not a ticketed transaction — those guests are not included in attendee data exports. If you need a guest to appear in your exported attendee data, issue them a Complimentary Ticket instead, which creates a native order and flows into all standard exports.
