Paylinks: Collecting High-Value Payments on Posh

Learn how to generate secure, single-use Paylinks to collect high-value VIP payments, track custom package invoicing, and capture guest data inside Posh.

High-value purchases—like bottle service packages, corporate sponsor tables, or vendor fees—often slow down due to manual invoicing, sketchy over-the-phone card reads, or painful follow-ups. Paylinks eliminate that friction entirely, giving you a secure, self-service way to send custom digital invoices and collect large transactions effortlessly.

Setting Up and Sending Paylinks

Launching the Paylink Builder

  1. Log in to your browser and select your active event from the dashboard list.

  2. Click the Tickets tab on the top navigation menu of your event page.

  3. Click the Create Paylink button to open the configuration panel.

Generating and Sharing an Invoice

  1. Input Payee Details: Enter your client's name and email address in the builder panel.

  2. Select the Package: Link the invoice to an existing ticket type, VIP table group, or custom add-on package.

  3. Dispatch the Link: Click send to automatically forward a branded email invoice with their secure checkout link.

  4. Manual Overrides: Copy the generated Paylink URL directly from the panel to paste and send manually via SMS, WhatsApp, or Slack.

Critical Paylink Guardrails

  • Single-Use Access: To protect your inventory caps, each unique Paylink can only be used for one successful transaction. Once paid, the link automatically deactivates.

  • 30-Day Expiration: Unpaid links automatically expire exactly 30 days after creation.

  • The Platform Fee: The platform fee for processing premium Paylink invoices is set globally to 10%.

Operational Benefits and Tracking Logistics

Strategic Advantages for High-Value Sales

  • No Manual Authorization Forms: Collect massive VIP payments instantly without making clients sign manual credit card authorization paperwork or email sensitive card details.

  • Radically Reduced Failed Payments: Avoid text-thread coordination headaches. If a client's card gets flagged, they receive instant, clear guidance on screen to retry the payment immediately.

  • Top-Tier Financial Security: Paylinks are backed by Stripe’s advanced machine-learning fraud engines, real-time bank verification, and 3D Secure (3DS) validation to ensure large transactions are bulletproof against chargebacks.

The Attendee and Data Experience

  • Zero Friction for VIPs: High-value clients do not need to create or log into a Posh account to settle their invoice. They can complete their purchase seamlessly via web or mobile web, and their digital receipt/QR code is sent directly to their inbox.

  • Live Revenue Syncing: Only fully completed (paid) transactions populate your dashboard and attendee list. If a Paylink has been sent but not yet paid, the recipient will not appear in your attendee list or Orders view until payment is complete. Once processed, Paylink orders seamlessly merge alongside your standard ticket sales, populating your live event reporting, payout schedules, and accounting summaries automatically.

  • Standard Refund Rules: If plans change, Paylink invoices can be fully or partially refunded exactly like a standard Posh ticket order.

FAQs

What can I actually sell using a Paylink?

Anything listed on your backend. This includes standard ticket tiers, premium VIP table configurations, group travel packages, physical vendor booth spaces, or custom experience add-ons.

What happens if their card gets declined?

The attendee will see a clear, real-time message explaining exactly why the bank blocked the transaction (e.g., daily spending limits or fraud blocks) so they can clear it with their financial institution and retry immediately.

Do these sales show up in my attendee data exports?

Yes. Because Paylinks automatically create a native Posh order upon successful payment, all customer data, names, and contact information flow directly into your standard attendee manifest exports.
