Posh has partnered with Affirm to give your attendees a modern, seamless way to pay over time. This system replaces legacy internal payment plans with lightning-fast approvals, completely automated payment reminders, and reduced risk for event organizers.
Access and Activation
To turn on Affirm, log into the Posh web dashboard, click the Finance ($) icon in the top navigation menu bar, and scroll down past your active payment methods to the Affirm configuration card. What you see next depends entirely on your current Stripe status:
If you still need to finish Stripe setup: The toggle will show as disabled and read "Complete Affirm Requirements." Just watch the video tutorial located right below the card to finish your Stripe onboarding. As soon as your payouts are active, you'll be able to flip the toggle and start offering payment plans right away.
If your payouts are already active: Simply flip the toggle switch to enable the feature and activate Affirm immediately.
Key Benefits for Your Event
The transition to Affirm removes administrative overhead for your team and introduces premium checkout flexibility:
Instant Credit Decisions: Attendees receive a secure credit determination in just 10–12 seconds during the checkout process.
Flexible Installments: Buyers are presented with 1 to 3 distinct payment duration pathways tailored to their cart total and credit profile.
Post-Event Payment Windows: Unlike legacy payment configurations, Affirm permits attendees to continue paying off their balances long after your event has successfully concluded.
Hands-Off Management: Affirm directly manages all billing schedules, support inquiries, and collections. Your team never has to chase failed installment invoices.
Operational Infrastructure: How It Works
The Attendee Journey
The buyer adds between $50 and $30,000 worth of tickets or VIP table reservations to their cart on an eligible event page.
They select Affirm as their preferred checkout method.
The interface redirects them securely to Affirm to input verification details or log into an existing profile.
Once approved, the buyer lands back on Posh with a confirmed, active order and receives transactional receipts from both platforms.
The Organizer Dashboard Impact
Upfront Payouts: You receive the full purchase balance upfront into your available payout pool according to your standard timeline—even if the buyer is splitting payments over several months.
Standard Workflows: Affirm orders mirror standard credit card transactions. They appear identically inside your data reports, and you process refunds through your standard order details dashboard the exact same way.
Refund Window: Affirm has a strict 120-day refund window. If a purchase falls outside this window, neither the organizer nor Posh will be able to initiate a refund for the charge through Stripe. In this case, the available options are: - Issue a refund directly to the customer outside of Stripe - Work with the customer to find an alternative solution 📖 Here's a quick Stripe reference for this: Stripe's Affirm Refunds Documentation
Zero Added Costs: Organizers do not pay premium transaction surcharges or platform fees to keep Affirm running. Your base ticketing structures remain entirely unaffected.
Eligibility & Activation Rules
Automatic Activation Checklist
To maximize adoption, Posh automatically enables Affirm for organization dashboards that satisfy all of the following thresholds:
Your account processes transactions natively in USD or CAD.
Your organization is fully onboarded with Stripe, and your payout status is Active.
You have generated at least $1.00 in all-time revenue on the Posh platform.
You have hosted a live production within the past 12 months that registered at least one scanned attendee.
Your event is built using our latest upgraded desktop Event framework or mobile system app.
⚙️ Managing Your Preferences: If your organization checks all the boxes, the tool activates automatically. You can manually disable or re-enable the feature at any time by flipping the switch under Finance > Affirm. Moving From Legacy Posh Payment Plans
If you previously utilized our older, in-house platform installment configurations, transitioning to the updated network will not disrupt active operations:
No Disruption: Pre-existing legacy installment plans will continue billing automatically until their balances hit zero.
Legacy Archival: You maintain historical reporting access to old payment plan orders inside your primary management spreadsheet.
Phasing In Affirm: Moving forward, attendees cannot initiate old, non-Affirm installment structures. The option to build custom in-house payment matrices is disabled on new event templates to fully favor the speed and financial protections of the Affirm platform network.
