Completing Your Finance Onboarding

Updated this week

Before you can get paid, you’ll need to complete your Stripe financial onboarding. This quick setup connects your bank and verifies your details so payouts from ticket sales can flow directly to you — on the web or in the Posh app.

👉 Follow the steps below, or watch the recording for an easy walkthrough.

Step 1: Business Type

Choose how your account will be set up:

  • Individual / Sole Proprietor (most organizers choose this)

  • Company / Nonprofit (if you’re representing a registered entity)

💡 Tip: Select the option that best matches your legal and tax setup. This determines which documents you’ll need later.

Step 2: Business Details

Provide your business information:

  • Legal name

  • Business address

  • Tax ID / EIN (if applicable)

  • Industry

  • Business Website

💡 Tip: Enter your details exactly as they appear on your official documents to avoid delays. For the Business Website, make sure the link you provide is working and active. If you don’t have a formal business website yet, you can use a social media profile (e.g., Instagram or LinkedIn) — just ensure it accurately represents your organization and events.

Step 3: Business Document (if required)

Upload proof of your business registration, such as:

  • IRS Letter 147C

  • SS-4 Confirmation Letter

💡 Tip: Not every organizer will see this step — it depends on your business type.

Step 4: Business Representative

Enter details of the person authorized to manage the account (this may be you):

  • Full legal name

  • Date of birth

  • Home address

  • Last 4 digits of SSN (for U.S. accounts)

💡 Tip: Use personal info that matches government records.

Step 5: Verification Document

Upload a valid, government-issued photo ID:

  • Passport

  • Driver’s license

  • State ID

💡 Tip: Make sure the document is clear and not expired.

Step 6: Bank Details

Add the bank account where you want payouts sent:

  • Routing number

  • Account number

💡 Tip: Only bank accounts are supported. Debit cards won’t work.

Step 7: Public Details

Set what customers see on their bank statements:

  • Public business name

  • Support contact (email, phone, or website)

💡 Tip: Use a name your attendees will recognize to reduce chargebacks.

After You Submit

  • Stripe reviews your information (usually quick, but sometimes up to a few business days).

  • If anything’s missing, Stripe will email you and flag it in your Finance page.

  • Once approved, payouts from your ticket sales will start flowing directly into your account 🎉.

✨ Whether you’re on the web or in the Posh app, completing onboarding follows the same steps — so you can set it up wherever it’s most convenient for you.

Troubleshooting Bank Account Details

In cases where mismatched bank account details occur:

  1. Confirm that the legal name on your Posh/Stripe account aligns with the bank account holder details.

  2. Check whether the ownership type is consistent with the registered Stripe settings (e.g., individual, Company).
