Checkout Settings: Customize the Attendee's Experience

Learn how to configure organization custom fees, build custom checkout questions, embed the responsive ticket iframe natively onto your website, and create event policies or terms of service.

Tailoring your checkout flow allows you to maximize your revenue capture, protect your brand, and collect mission-critical data before an attendee ever locks in a ticket. Use these advanced settings to control the exact layout of your buyer's journey from start to finish.

Quick Guide: Where to Go

  1. Log in to Posh and click the event you want to manage to open its event page.

  2. Select Settings from the tabs at the top.

  3. From here, you can access:

Managing Global and Event-Level Custom Fees

Setting Up Fee Pathways and Valuation Models

Custom fees allow you to add localized charges seamlessly to your ticket layout. Posh provides two distinct routing paths depending on how broadly you want your fees to apply:

  • 🏢 Organization-Level Fees: To apply a fee globally across every event under your brand, navigate to your Organization Profile, click the $ icon in the top-right Finance panel, and select Add Custom Fee. Delete it from this same Finance dashboard to undo.

  • 🎟️ Event-Level Fees: To restrict a fee to a single production, select your event, click the Settings tab (Gear icon ⚙️) from the top navigation, and click Custom fees from the left-hand menu. Here you can optionally lock fees to specific ticket tiers only.

  • Valuation Setup: For either option, choose between a Percentage-based fee (calculated dynamically from the ticket price) or a Dollar-based fee (a flat rate added on top).

⚠️ Web Platform Requirement: Custom fees, checkout questions, and iframe embed configurations must be managed on the Posh Web platform only; these parameters are not supported inside our Posh mobile app.

Compliance Guardrails and Financial Auditing

Because Posh operates under strict consumer transparency guidelines, there are vital legal and architectural rules to keep in mind when establishing your fee setups:

  • 🚫 Illegal Naming Strings: System filters automatically block terms that imply a platform-side charge. You cannot name your fee "service fee," "processing fee," "card fee," or "bank fee."

  • ✅ Approved Naming Strings: Utilize clear operational terminology such as "venue fee," "facility fee," "convenience fee," or "gratuity."

  • Sales Tax Adjustments: Posh does not automatically calculate or collect local sales tax. Custom fees are the official method to build local tax metrics cleanly into your upfront ticket prices.

  • Auditing Fee Revenue: Custom fee balances are held completely independent from your gross tallies and will not reflect inside your main Organization or Event dashboard revenue counters. To audit your balances, execute a standard data export and ensure Custom Fees is checked before downloading the file.

Building Custom Checkout Questions

Capture custom information (e.g., merchandise sizes or dietary restrictions) at the absolute beginning of the checkout process. From your event dashboard, open Settings (Gear icon ⚙️) > Checkout questions to set up your prompts:

  • Targeted Gating: Make a question required for all buyers, or use Limit to ticket type to display it only when specific ticket types are selected.

  • Data Management: The live Attendees dashboard page does not support direct response filtering. To sort guests by their responses, export your attendee list and filter the custom field response column via Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel, or Numbers. You can use this filtered data to manually tag or select target guests on your Posh dashboard for isolated SMS marketing blasts.

Customizing the Confirmation Message

Give attendees important information immediately after they complete their order. From your event dashboard, open Settings > Confirmation message and enter the message you want attendees to receive.

Your custom message appears on the attendee's order confirmation page, receipt email, and calendar invite. If you leave this field blank, Posh will use the default confirmation message.

Use this space for helpful post-purchase details, such as:

  • Links to your event website or Know Before You Go guide

  • Hotel, parking, transportation, or venue information

  • Age or entry requirements

  • Reminders about when additional event details will be shared

Example:

Thank you for purchasing your ticket to Summer Nights Festival! For event updates, parking information, and FAQs, visit our event website. | A full Know Before You Go guide will be shared closer to the event date. | This event is 21+ and a valid photo ID is required for entry.

💡 Tip: Keep your confirmation message focused on information attendees need after purchasing. For detailed event rules, refund policies, or terms, use your Event Terms of Service instead.

Which address appears on attendee receipt emails? 📧

The address shown on Posh attendee receipt and order-confirmation emails is the event’s location address, taken from the event details. Posh does not pull the address from the organizer’s Finance setup or Stripe onboarding records. If the same company address was entered as the event location, that address will appear on the receipt because it is saved in the event details.

Updating your Finance or Stripe business address does not change the event-location address shown on these emails.

Check whether the receipt address matches the location saved in Events → open your event → Edit Event. If your company address was entered as the event location by mistake, update it to the actual venue address. If the addresses do not match, send Posh Support a screenshot of the receipt and your event link.

Deploying the Embed Event iFrame

Display the Posh ticket-selection experience directly on an external webpage using a responsive, dark-mode iframe. Attendees can browse the event and begin selecting tickets from your website before proceeding to the Posh-hosted checkout flow.

  1. Open Settings (Gear icon ⚙️) > Embed event iframe from your event dashboard.

  2. Click Embed page and select Copy code to clipboard to grab the raw HTML iframe snippet.

  3. Paste this snippet directly into the backend code or HTML block editor of your website host (such as WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, or Webflow).

  • Interactive Previews: Before publishing, click Preview to launch the Embed Preview window to inspect active prices, descriptions, and automated "Sold Out" states in real-time.

  • Layout Sizing: Adjust the height and width parameters directly within the copied iframe code string to ensure the checkout frame flows perfectly with your website's custom layout grid. Note that each event must be embedded individually; multi-event widget scripts are not supported.

Reminder: ✨

The event and initial ticket-selection experience can appear within your website’s iframe. However, clicking Checkout or Login redirects the attendee away from the organizer’s website to a Posh-hosted event page.

This is expected. Posh redirects attendees before login or OTP to establish a secure authentication session on the Posh domain.

The complete login, payment, and confirmation flow cannot currently remain inside an iframe or modal on the organizer’s website.

🚀 Pro-Tip: To display your entire active calendar on your website without updating iframe codes week after week, link your site's "Upcoming Events" button directly to your permanent Posh Organization Profile URL. Your profile calendar updates automatically the second you publish a new page.

Integrating Event Terms of Service and Policies

Crafting Rules and Protecting Payouts against Chargebacks

To shield your business from unnecessary credit card chargebacks and establish clear operational guidelines at the door, integrate your policies seamlessly into the customer's buying path:

  • Operational Rules: Use your main event description workspace to clearly detail your house rules, age limits (e.g., 21+ with valid ID), dress codes, and strict re-entry restrictions.

  • The Refund Policy Guardrail: Explicitly state your refund stance (e.g., All Sales Are Final or Refunds allowed up to 7 days before the event). A transparent, visible policy helps Posh defend your revenue if a customer files an unauthorized credit card chargeback dispute later.

  • Checkout Acknowledgment: Platform-wide Terms of Service check-boxes and mandatory buyer acknowledgments apply automatically during paid ticket checkouts. These consumer agreement layers do not display on completely free RSVP events. To configure event-specific text, access Settings (Gear icon ⚙️) > Event terms of service.
