How to Cancel Your Event and Issue Full Event Refunds

Learn how to submit an event cancellation request, communicate your decision to attendees, and navigate the Posh manual refund review process.

Whether you're canceling an RSVP event, canceling a paid event, or issuing mass refunds without taking the event down — here's how to handle each scenario from your dashboard.

Note: To protect against fraud, all mass refund requests undergo an internal review by the Posh Support Team before processing.

🌐 Web Only: Event cancellations and Full Event Refund (FER) requests are only available through the Posh website. You can use a web browser on a computer or mobile device, but these actions cannot be completed in the Posh mobile app.

Full Event Refund Statuses

  • Pending – your request is under review. FERs are processed weekly, typically by the end of the week. If it’s still pending and it’s been less than 7 days, hang tight — no need to follow up yet.

  • Approved – your request has been accepted and the refund has been completed. Attendees will receive their refunds within 3–5 business days.

  • Rejected – your request wasn’t approved. This is rare and usually means it didn’t meet refund criteria.
📌 If your FER is still pending after 7 days, reach out to us and we’ll take a look.

Verification & Sales Freeze

  • Manual Review Window: Posh reviews and validates cancellation requests within 3–5 business days to prevent fraud.

  • Immediate Freeze: While under review, your event page is automatically frozen to prevent new ticket sales.

Financial Details & Alternatives

  • Processing Fees: Platform processing fees are only refundable in the case of a full event refund. Once approved, attendees receive a complete refund including Posh fees.

  • Irreversible Action ⚠️ : Canceling an event and triggering mass refunds cannot be undone. Additionally, as soon as you submit an FER, your attendees are automatically notified that a refund is on the way — this notification cannot be recalled once sent. Be certain before submitting to avoid attendee confusion.

  • Consider Postponing First: Before submitting a cancellation request, consider alternative solutions—such as postponing the event and updating your event date—to keep your sales intact.
