Completing Your Finance Setup & Resolving Payout Issues

Learn how to navigate the 5-minute Stripe onboarding flow, submit required verification documents, match your banking parameters, and troubleshoot disabled payouts.

To securely receive funds from your ticket sales, you must connect and verify your payout information through Stripe, our secure payment processing partner.

Accessing the Financial Onboarding Portal

Navigation Steps

  1. Log into your Posh workstation browser dashboard.

  2. Click the ($) icon located in the top-right corner of the global navigation bar to open your Finance page.

  3. Locate the main Account status card. If your setup is incomplete, this block will flag an explicit red Disabled badge in the corner.

  4. Find the Stripe onboarding row and click the white Complete now button to launch your verification setup workspace.

💡 Additional Feature Note: Directly beneath the onboarding button in this block, you will find the In-person payments toggle. Once your primary Stripe onboarding is fully approved, you can flip this switch to accept live, physical payments via the Posh app for door-side drinks and table adjustments.

The Step-by-Step Financial Onboarding Flow

1. Choose Your Legal Business Type

  • Individual / Sole Proprietor: Choose this if you do not operate a legally registered corporate entity (the baseline selection for independent promoters).

  • Company / Nonprofit: Choose this if you are an established, registered entity. You will select your exact business structure from the sub-menu:

    • Sole Proprietorship (Single owner, not legally separate from the individual).

    • Single-Member LLC (Single owner, legally separate entity).

    • Multi-Member LLC (Two or more corporate owners).

    • Private Partnership (Shared entity structure).

2. Enter Business Details

Provide your legal business name, physical street address, and Tax ID/EIN (if applicable).

💡 Web Link Tip: Stripe requires an active business URL to verify your brand presence. If you do not have a dedicated corporate website, copy and paste your brand's official public social media profile link (such as your business Instagram or LinkedIn page).

Business address versus event address: The business address collected during Finance setup is used for financial onboarding and verification. Posh does not pull this address from Finance or Stripe to populate attendee receipt emails; those emails use the location saved in the event details. A company address may appear if it was saved as the event location. Check the receipt against your event details and correct any mistaken location. If they do not match, send Posh Support the receipt screenshot and event link.

3. Upload Business Documents

Depending on your entity classification, Stripe may request proof of corporate registration. Upload a clean, high-resolution scan of your official IRS Letter 147C or SS-4 Confirmation Letter.

4. Designate the Account Representative

Enter the profile details of the authorized individual signing off on the financial ledger (typically yourself): full legal name, date of birth, physical home address, and the last 4 digits of their Social Security Number (SSN).

5. Verify Identity via Photo ID

Upload a clear, unexpired photo or scan of a valid government-issued identification card. Accepted document types include:

  • Passport

  • Driver’s License

  • Official State ID Card

6. Link Routing & Account Details

Input your routing number and checking account number.

⚠️ Crucial Bank Account Matching Rule: To pass compliance verification, your bank registration name must mirror your Stripe entity framework:

  • If registered as an Individual, you must link a personal bank account matching your legal name.

  • If registered as an LLC or Company, you must link a corporate business checking account matching your exact corporate entity name.

  • Note: Only standard routing bank checking accounts are supported. Debit cards or prepaid accounts cannot be linked for inbound event payouts.

Stripe may require supporting verification from the last 12 months to confirm ownership. Keep one of these files handy:

  • Bank statement

  • Voided check

  • Official bank verification letter on corporate letterhead

7. Configure Public Statement Descriptors

Customize your public business billing name and support contact details (email or phone). If your business structure is Individual, your statement descriptor must be similar to your individual's name since it's an individual business type.

⚠️ Chargeback Prevention Tip: Use a clear, recognizable name that your guests will immediately identify on their credit card statement or mobile banking applications to prevent accidental, costly chargebacks.

Post-Submission Verification States

Once you submit your application data, Stripe evaluates the records. Approvals are frequently instantaneous but can scale to a few business days if manual document validation is required:

  • Approved State: Payouts from your ticket sales will immediately start flowing into your account according to your delivery schedule.

  • Missing Requirements State: If any details fail validation, Stripe will email you directly and flag the required fields on your Posh Finance page.

Troubleshooting Disabled Payouts

To initiate a payout to your bank account, select Transfer Balance/New Payout button. If you are unable to process checkouts or notice the button is missing, check your Finance page against these three common operational blockers:

Blocker 1: Incomplete Financial Onboarding

  • The Symptom: Your dashboard account status explicitly flashes Complete now now or Submit Requirements.

  • The Fix: You have unsubmitted or missing verification fields. Click the button to enter the Stripe portal and update your identity assets. If the dashboard tells you to Contact Support, open a live help chat immediately so our compliance team can manually push a tracer.

Blocker 2: Document Verification Mismatches

  • The Symptom: Stripe actively rejects your uploaded photo ID or business tax letter.

  • The Fix: Ensure your legal name on your Posh profile matches your government records exactly. Double-check that your business ownership type is completely consistent with your banking infrastructure (e.g., trying to route corporate LLC revenue into a personal checking account will trigger an automatic security freeze).

Blocker 3: Brand-New Account (No Ticket Sales Yet)

  • The Issue: You are a new organization hosting your first event, and your payout is marked as disabled.

  • The Fix: This is completely expected. For new accounts, the first ticket purchase triggers Stripe's verification review. Payouts will remain disabled until you sell your first ticket.

Blocker 4: Account Under Review

  • The Issue: Your Finance dashboard shows “Under Review” or “Contact Support” under Account Status. This is a manual compliance review triggered by Stripe — separate from the standard verification step. Common triggers include mismatches between submitted documents and account registration details, business entity classification concerns, or previously incomplete or rejected verification submissions.

  • Expected Timeline: Manual compliance reviews typically take a few business days up to 2 weeks, depending on complexity. This process cannot be expedited by Posh Support.

  • What to do while waiting: Make sure all previously submitted documents are complete and accurate. Ensure your submitted website or social media link is publicly accessible — not password-protected or under construction. Verify that the name on your bank account matches your business name. ⚠️ Do not resubmit documents repeatedly — this can reset the review clock.

  • When to contact support: If your account has shown “Under Review” for more than 5 business days with no updates, contact Posh Support and include your account email and a valid, publicly accessible website for your business.
