Sending a Text Blast via the Marketing tab

Updated over a week ago

Supercharge your event marketing with Posh's SMS Blasts. Boost ticket sales and keep your audience engaged with this powerful feature.

Here’s how to get started:

  1. Log in: Log in to your Posh account in your browser.

  2. Navigate to Marketing: Go to the Marketing section.

  3. Choose Your Audience: Select your target audience.

  4. Advanced Filtering Options: Make sure your message reaches the right audience by using the advanced filtering tools:

    1. Sort by:

      • Attendees

      • Total Spend

      • Tickets Purchased

      • Last Purchase (Newest to Oldest)

    2. Filter by:

      • Detected Gender

      • Tags

      • Specific Events

  5. Create Your SMS Message:

    • Write a concise and compelling message within the 140-character limit.

    • Personalize your message with the recipient’s name.

    • Include a Posh link to your event page.

    • Be mindful that Emojis and other special characters will reduce your character count.

  6. Send Your SMS Blast.
You can only send 10 SMS blasts within a rolling 30-day period. For example, if you send a blast today, that one credit will become available again 30 days from now.

    1. Important: For urgent event cancellations, use Event Alerts instead of SMS Blasts. Unlike SMS Blasts, Event Alerts reach all attendees, even those who have opted out or if you’re out of SMS credits.

Sending SMS Blasts to Non-Ticket Holders 📝

You can’t send SMS blasts to people who’ve never purchased tickets from you—but you can message past attendees who haven’t grabbed tickets for your upcoming event yet.

Here’s how to do it:

  1. Head to the SMS tab of the event you’re promoting.

  2. Click Filter > Filter by Events.

  3. Select all past events, excluding the one you're currently promoting.

  4. Apply the filter—this will show a list of past attendees who haven’t purchased tickets for your current event.

Feel free to adjust the filters to target your ideal audience!

⚠️ Heads up: If someone attended multiple past events, they may appear more than once. To avoid sending duplicate messages, untick the checkbox next to their name before sending your blast. If you have a large attendee list, this may require manual review.

We know this isn’t the most seamless process right now, but we’re actively working on ways to make audience targeting easier and more efficient.
