Sending a Text Blast via the Event Page

Updated over a week ago

Use event-specific SMS blasts to communicate directly with attendees of a particular event. This method is ideal for sending updates or follow-ups related to that specific event.

Follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your Posh account using a web browser.

  2. Navigate to the Event Details page of the specific event.

  3. Go to the Attendees section.

  4. Select the Attendees you wish to message.

  5. Compose and Send Your Message:

    • Craft a concise message within the 140-character limit.

    • You may include external links in event-specific blasts.

    • Remember that emojis and special characters reduce the character count.

      • Important: For urgent event cancellations, use Event Alerts instead of SMS Blasts. Unlike SMS Blasts, Event Alerts reach all attendees, even those who have opted out or if youโ€™re out of SMS credits.

Important Notes about SMS Blasts

  • Unlimited Blasts: You can send unlimited event-specific blasts up to 3 days after your event ends.

  • Character Limit: Each message is limited to 140 characters. Using emojis or special characters will reduce this limit (e.g., an emoji brings it down to ~115 characters).

  • Links: External links are allowed in event-specific blasts.

  • Content Guidelines: Messages must not include profanity, drug or alcohol references, or hate speech.

  • Opt-Out Option: All attendees can opt out of SMS messages at any time.

  • Why These Limits Exist: These guidelines help ensure your messages are delivered successfully, keep engagement high, and reduce the chance of unsubscribes.
