Scanning Tickets in Posh: Two Ways to Run Your Event Door

Updated this week

Running the door at your event? Posh gives you two easy ways to access the Ticket Scanner — whether your staff is logging in or just using a one-time code.

Option A: Use a Scanner PIN (No Login Needed)

Perfect for door staff or temporary help who don’t need full team access.

Step 1: Create a Scanner PIN

  1. Log in to your POSH account in your browser.

  2. Head to your Event Details page.

  3. Click the Team & Tracking icon.

  4. Select + Add Ticket Scanner Pin.

  5. Copy and share the generated pin with your door staff.

    • You can also delete the pin on the same page at any time.

⚡ Note: Ticket Scanner Pins can also be created in the POSH app — the steps follow the same flow.

Step 2: Staff Uses the PIN in the App

  1. Open the Posh app.

  2. On the login screen, tap the QR code icon (upper-right).

  3. Enter the unique Scanner PIN.

  4. Access the Event Overview to review orders & guest lists.

  5. Tap Scan Tickets to start check-ins. 🎟️

✅ With this option, no login is required — it’s like handing out a secure guest pass for scanning tickets.

Important Note: You can use a single PIN for all of your staff; there’s no need to create a PIN per ticket scanner. ✨

Option B: Be Invited as a Doorperson (Login Required)

Best for staff who need recurring access or are part of your trusted team.

Step 1: Invite Them as a Doorperson

  • From your Organizer Dashboard, add them as a team member.

  • Assign them the Doorperson role.

Step 2: Doorperson Logs In

  1. Open the Posh app.

  2. Log in with their email/phone number.

  3. Go to Event Details → select the event.

    1. Anyone added to your team with ticket-scanning permissions will automatically see the ‘Scan Tickets’ option in the Posh app — no extra setup needed.

  4. Tap Scan Tickets to check in guests.
